Interests and Change Management: how to?

Organizational change became ubiquitous and a required management capability. Every change project involves multiple stakeholders each with specific interests and differential stakes on the change itself. The tool to harness the different interests to support the change process and goals (two different issues to be tackled each one by itself) is the Interests Management Matrix, we developed based on Kurt Lewin’s conceptualization of change. The IMM is easy to develop (usually takes half a work day or less, with management) and enables an efficient change process. The tenet of the matrix is to analyse four different aspects of each stakeholder interest group: Pull forces, Push forces, passive Obstacles and active Opposition (PPOO) to either the change goals or processes and leverage the appropriate ones along the change management process. Follows the empty matrix figure.

Wish you a successful and enjoyable change management process.
